Mobile Makers is a non-profit which creates programming that encourages youth to become advocates and change-makers in their own communities through design-focused skill-building workshops. This project is the build-out of a learning, making, and office space at Kimball Arts Center in the Humboldt Park neighborhood of Chicago. The design is inspired by using commonly-sourced and visible materials to put construction techniques on display while providing resilient surfaces. The space includes an entry and exhibition space, a maker lab, conference room, multi-purpose room and kitchenette. Office space is provided in a loft.
