Chicago Avenue Apartments
The renovation of a multi-family building to upgrade units and create a distinctive new entry with tile and linear LED lighting.
The Chicago Avenue Apartments are twelve units above one level of retail. The masonry building spans a double lot and makes ample use of light wells to provide light and air to the residential spaces. The work included reconfiguring two bedroom units into three bedroom two bathroom units by placing bedrooms against the exterior walls and arranging bathrooms and kitchens around the lightwells. Living space remained at the front of building with views out to Chicago Avenue. Simple interior finish selections and unique lighting strategies created design focused apartment spaces on a tight budget.
